About Yumminn

Yumminn is the easiest and fastest way to order & pay at restaurants, improve your Google ratings and retain your clients. Yumminn helps restaurants improve their profitability and efficiency with a digital solution that optimizes the operational processes between your waiters and clients.

Challenges

  • Improve the user experience when paying at restaurants.

  • Redesign the current MVP.

  • Increase the number of successful payments through Yumminn.

  • Boost tips for waiters/waitresses.

  • Understand and meet the needs of the restaurant, diner, and waiter/waitress.

Problem

  • The biggest pain for customers and an important pain for hospitality. Average waiting time: 13 minutes.

Research

  • As a UX/UI designer, my goal is to conduct a comprehensive analysis of the current Yumminn MVP. This will involve identifying the strengths and weaknesses of the MVP and prioritizing features for usability testing.

Working well

  • The button to change the languaje

  • The customer can split the bill.

  • Personalize the photo/logo of the restaurant more.

  • It is a good solution for paying in restaurants.

  • Show who has already paid and the status of the bill on the table on the payment successful screen.

To improve

  • There is no hierarchy, there are 4 buttons with 4 actions to perform.

  • It is not clear that the diner should pay their bill through the web app.

  • If the diner has already ordered their food with the waiter/waitress, it doesn't show what they ordered or how much they have to pay.

  • There is no clear call-to-action, meaning the customer doesn't know what to do.

  • The profile is not necessary at this stage of design.
There is too much information on the "successful payment" screen.

  • Improve the visual interface.

  • We interviewed the diners in the restaurant, together with the operations team, using an application to learn about their experience, what improvements they would suggest, and the issues they encountered when paying. Here are the main issues we found:

Second iteration

In this second iteration, we built upon the feedback from both restaurants and diners. Through interviews and visits, we discovered that while the interface was already functioning well and significantly improved from Yumminn's previous MVP, we successfully increased the number of tips and improved conversion rates. However, our new challenge was to stand out from our direct competitors. In response to the feedback, they desired the Webbapp to be an entire experience in itself, offering a more personalized touch and embodying the unique brand identity of each restaurant. This strategic approach sets us apart and makes us truly distinctive in the competitive landscape.
